Among a group of friends drinking, the idea of a bar was on everybody’s mind on that particular night. Names of all kinds, most of it (..... best not to mention) were thrown into the bucket. Naturally, everyone had their own preference of names and after much deliberation and with the added help of fresh beers, The Den was the chosen one, thrown by Chino.  After all the sole purpose of drinking were to bond, catching up  with each other’s lives and to wind down after work as night falls. The Den, which means ‘a place where actual conversations takes place’, was conceived on 29th September 2010. It began a reality on 22nd February 2011.

To create an ambience where patrons gather with the purpose and the need to connect.  To create that, The Den, where the bar and the courtyard takes centre stage for creativity serves an extensive range of liquors, wines and cocktails. Noticeably, the beverage prices for a hotel are without doubt, the lowest in town and are located inside Kuching’s most trendy boutique hotel, The Batik Boutique Hotel.

Patrons can choose to wind down at the bar or at the courtyard where there is a wide screen projector showing the latest sports, live when available. It also accessible through the courtyard entrance and there is ample parking when night falls. The bar is further complimented with an authentic Japanese restaurant. This restaurant has created a name for itself for good and consistent food and with very reasonable pricing.

The Den is still undergoing minor renovations, which will be completed by end of March. The Den is open 7 days a week, from 12.00pm to 1.00am. On those special nights where the sports teams fight for right to be champions during early morning hours, we will be open. The Japanese restaurant is open till 10pm daily. Currently there is no food served at the bar, but all that will change in the very near future.
